Reg Gorley died when an enemy shell exploded next to him whist in action at Guillemont.His Father Frank had a grocers shop at 42 High Street Sittingbourne. His Commanding officer spoke highly of him when writing to his parents to inform them of his death . Captain Hubert Warner descrides Reg as "one of the bravest and the best " & "He was fearless".
